btw vaux said it was most likely the sender in the engine bay on the thermostat so i brought a new one and fitted it but it was the guage dunno if putting a new sender would change the reading now though?

well im guessing it is yeh since i let the engine idle it got to about 102 before the fan kicked in where it used to be 100 on old guage

Perhaps. But every vaux petrol engine i've seen runs at 92oC.

Sure your theromstat is ok?

Monster are you saying that the 92 is normal then? if so perhaps my old temp guage was inaccurate?

2 degrees not gonna make too much of a dif probs just a lil inaccuracy between the clocks :)

yeh thats what i thought but if i adjust the needle by hand on the back of the guage then it would read lower if you understand me meaning it would read 90 then

Hi my temp guage stopped working in my P reg 1.4 16v sport with electric clocks brought some new clocks for cheap and swapped over the guages it now works but i went for a drive and the guage was 92 degrees C and with my old guage was always on 90? ive looked on the old guage and you can adjust the needle manual so it would start futher to the left and therefore change the reading but im thinking my old guage could have been wrong??:boggle:
