i had the same problem in my old gsi, change the pressure regulator as there is a diafram inside which collapses and allows excess fuel to pass through resulting in overfueling... best bet for a bit of extra poke is to uprate the regulator and injectors at the same time to let jobbies! roughly extra 10 to 12bhp

if its flooding it something related to the fuel pressure or the injectors. wont be the relay as that only switches the pump on and off anyway.

check what pressure its running by attatching a gauge on the end of the fuel rail. if thats ok try swopping the injectors for some replacements.

Check the fuel relay as Phil says. Signs of failure will be melting around the pins on the relay.

The sensor you have been told about is probably the coolant temp sensor...blue two pin plug situated to the left of the exhaust manifold.

im looking at buying my mates c20xe nova but it has a fueling problem. problem is its flooding on start, it will fire once then flood. But if you take off the fuel pump it will then run...not for long obviously. I've been told it could be the fuel pressure regulator, but could do with some more advice. Also been told its a sensor but we don't know which one.

Thanks
