Yeah, but they don't work with the later 1.6s as the wiring is different :(

Bummer! Am I right in thinkng that ECU exist in earlier models that do not require a chip at all because they didn't use immobilisers?

Without that, you can't use the new ECU, it won't start :(

You'll have to get the ring, or a new ECU with ring and chip.

I didn't get the ignition barrel thing... what should I do now? Lol!

With the key Dan, you take the little chip and put it actually inside the key.

Did you get the ECU, chip and the ignition barrel ring?

This -

goes in the key (there's a special place for it)

This -

goes on the ignition barrel

and then it'll all work with the new ECU.

That's probably more than you needed to know

Also, I now have the key for my ECU, do I simply tape the transponder chip near the ECU to make it work? Or is this totally wrong?

Just curious about a couple of jobs that I need to do...

How long will it take to dismantle the lock, get a snapped key out and put it back on the car? Is it a job I can do after work?

Also, how easy is it to adjust the handbrake?
