it aint on tb's lads,yet anyway.Looked at the haynes and it looks to be fairly straight forward :lol::o | |

well tbh its only the inlet manifold thats the gay thing with them . so yeah if its got tbs they your laughing lol . also the way they route wires and coolant pipes .. bloody mongs :look: | |

if its got aircon etc its more awkward .. hate doing x14 and x/c16 head gakets .. bloody stupid setup! :o | |

always get the head skimmed whenever its removed. even if its a few thou of an inch out at some point it wont seal properly. plus the gasket WILL be stuck to the head and you will never get it all off without a good skim. Remember you need to remove the cams, followers and bearings to get it skimmed | |

Is it necessary to get the head skimmed as the hg hasnt gone but its loosing coolant slowly(top it up with a pint every 3-4 weeks) and there is small signs of oil in the coolant(Slight film on the top of the coolant) | |

take the inlet manifold off with the head...its the easiest way... | |

Going to do the head gasket in next couple of days.Any advice on problems i might come across and any words of wisdom as i havent done one before!!Its a x14xe and i have a haynes!! |
