Apologies for reviving a very old thread...

Im currently posting on behalf of my father who owns a corsa b (X17) diesel which has developed the same fault as the OP. As described above, the 99 plate corsa (DERV) does not have fuse 26 to remove, it has never had a fuse located in this position since owning the car for approx 2 years. The ignition barrel has been checked so he can rule that out being the potential problem so im wondering if anybody has any further suggestions for the source of the problem? are there any relays that could cause the same issue?

hope you can help, once again apologies for resurrecting the thread.

Corsa barrel are named to fail but not the black plug the barrel itself does not turn the metal rod inside the barrel which goes in the black plug can break !

i had i similar problem with my diesel clio a while back - it was my fuel soleniod sticking - i could take the key out and engine would still run - if i reved the car it would cut out or i would have to stall it

is there not a main engine fuse for the system that could be blown - there was with my clio - if its working with the fuse out i would say leave it out like but like i say i wil gues that it has something to do with the fuel solenoid

R U 100% sure its not the ignition barrell cos it totally sounds like it to me. i know the pins that operate it can lock some times. How did you get it out and strip it to make sure?

fuse 26 is the fuel injection system iirc think its 20 A (yellow) fuse?

They work fine, the trouble is with the wiring. For some reason the ignition is remaining on with the key removed. All the ignition lights on the dash stay on with the keys out and its not the barrel/black cap thats causing it. For some reason when I pull fuse 26 the fault goes away. I need to know what fuse 26 is for! anyone??

Hi folks,
I've not been on here for a very long time, my appoligies, but I need your help. I'm in work today and my collegue turned up this morning In a Corsa B deisel Van. He came up to the workshop and told me he couldnt turn the engine off!

Anyway after laughing for a little while at his misfortune I went and had a look expecting it to be the ignition barrel or the fuel cut off valve stuck open. On closer inspection its neither. The ignition lights on the dash and the MFD stay on almost as if the ignition is stuck on. But having stripped down the ignition barrel and opened up the black cap to ensure all terminals where seperated, the ignition is still lit on?

I suspected maybe a short circut somewhere possibly the result of rodents chewing wires becouse he's had it parked up for a year and only just started using it again. Its been fine for a week and only today when he got to work did it start.

With this in mind I started pulling relays and fuses. I found when you remove fuse 26 marked up only as FI on the fuse box cover, the engine stops and starts properly on the key so I't's got to be this circuit thats causing the trouble. Thing Is I have no Idea what this cuircuit does as he hasnt got a manual. Do any of you chaps have one handy? see what fuse 26 actually does? And any other Ideas what might be causing it?

Thanks guys
