yea, if you have a very low biting point then its likely that the clutch cable has stretched and needs adjusting

Reset the gear linkage, doesn't take long and is worth a try.

Reverse gear grinding is common on most manual gear boxes as reverse doesnt have a syncro (make sure your at a full stop before selecting reverse, sometimes deselecting and reselecting a forward gear before selecting reverse can help). However if all your gears are difficult to engage then you could have a clutch problem.

Help, when i put my gears into reverse it makes the most aweful grating noise (so embarasing) i've been starting car in gear to stop this, what can it be and what can i do to stop it. Also having trouble changing gears been nearly at the point of breaking the gear stick trying to get it into gear i need. Its not a women thing either as had boyfriend driving it and it happens with him. Car is a corsa B by the way. |
