Mine passed the MOT when the brakes where like it, as long as they are working efective i think it should be fine. Not too sure about changing pads, if i was changing my disks though i would do the pads at the same time because there not really that expencive!

its cool dude

will my car pass MOT in the condition its in??

and is warped disks a MOT failure??
will the MOT tester be able to test n tell if they are warped??

ALSO would it be wise to change the pads at the same time?? even though they are fine!!!

sorry i dint mean it was the handbrake, when i was changing the handbrake cable i noticed that the rear drums had moved and wernt working correctly causing it to vibrate the car

only proper way to test is get the car to your local mot place and ask them to put it on the break rollers. warping is caused by the heat in the disks making them out of shape.

really even though they look fine and hardly worn out! damn man, here i was thinking these have lasted ages

so is warping of disks common when they are really old??
or is it caused when they not treated right, breaking hard a lot etc??

the discs could be warped, just visually checking you cant tell

for past few months my steering wheel has been shakking/juddering under medium to hard braking!!! :!

i have read in previous posts that it could be the brakes, but ive checked the front disks and pads and they are fine!! they are 256mm 2litre 16v spec brakes and calipers by the way.

the steering itself is fine, it doesnt swerve to any side, infact its dead straight lol!!

ive lowered it last week, and since then the shakking has got a little better!!

any ideas?? could it need tracking done??
