stuck 4.5 litres in - damn hard to see level on dipstick when oil is so clean :(

oil filter should be primed first. 4.5litres for redtop. Would never fire up a red top with 3 litres for 10seconds, your asking for trouble. The min mark on the dipstick is 3.5 litres.

i was told by LM 4.5, thats why i said 4.5 ;)

and halfords says:

4-4.5 litres for the C20XE out of Calibra

gonna stick 4 in then run the engine for a bit as j1400 says - thanks

mine takes between 4 and a half and 5 litres.

if you go to halfords, yes, halfords, there is a flip book like they have for headlight bulbs for oil levels and gearbox oil levels for pretty much all cars

4.5Litres.

Better to put 4 in then run for 10secs (to fill the oil filter) then test it.

3L is for the small blocks as they only take 3.5L

its around the 4 litres mark... but to stop you over filling it use my method

put 3 litres in... start it up.... let it run for 10 seconds turn it off... then check the dipstick.... top up accordingly...
