what year did they start doing this? as my gf has a 1.4 16v and she has a key without a chip and it works fine | |

the chip, key and ECU all have to come from same car, but like siberia said instead of changing the lock barrel, take the chip out the key of the doner car and sellotape it to the lock barrel in your car | |

remove the chip from the key and sello tape ot the the ignition barrel... :o | |

pretty much, unless you can get an ECU, key and pickup from another XE car. | |

Rite, currently driving a 1.2 8v and i've seen a 1.4 16v going dirt cheap with 50k on the clock and compression problems (so cheap i dont mind sorting this). |
