A mate of mine got cams, and was gunna buy vernier pulleys but when he took it to John Noble's in Chesterfield to get them set up ... he said they dint fit :S And they were 100% for his engine | |

Thats the nature of engines mate. I was just using it to emphasis the difference a pair of cams can make, and whats needed to use them. | |

It made 199bhp, although I suspect that the rollers weren't very accurate, so I'd say around 180bhp odd. | |

what power was your engine putting out then? with all that done? im looking for around 180bhp, and was told when i bough the car that all it needed was some cams and vernier pulleys to achieve this? | |

As far as I'm concerned my old engine in my Nova was perfectly drivable, and was at the apex of cost/power curve. | |

Verniers cant be used with standard management anyway due to the cam sensor pick up. | |

ah, another lesson learned. i just found a flintstone thread of somebody selling his 264 degr. cams because he didn't get it to run stationary.. so it is possible that my cams are 260 degr? :/ | |

i have decide i want to invest in some uprated cam, and vernier pulleys. |
