well guys id like to say thanks for all the advice has been given against this topic its stopped me selling my valver which i didnt want to do,

anyway after days of checking and redoing the vacuum pipes i then got my hand on a AFM which i hoped worked and waalaa

idles perfect, its not drink fuel like its going out of fashion, and the misfire has gone all due to the air flow meter

ah and the drive shaft it wasnt the shaft it was the caliper was loose some how?? tightened it up and it all good again

There's a certain amount of play in the shaft anyways to allow for suspension movement.
Has it got shafts form the astra in there?

well it went from working fine to shot to shit in a split second ??

and the drive shaft is slack also i can shake it around in my hand under the car !

that'll come after i do the hub/bearing

well its not the hub that woulda died, just probably the bearing is shot to shit.

If your ECU light is on you really need to get your diagnostic plug hooked up

well as the title says now it gets worse,

the next thing to have gone is a hub !!!

was on my way to the guys place to pick up an air mass meter and all of a suddon there was the scuffing noise ??

at first i thought oil and water (head in hands) then thought but hold on the cars still runnin !!!

then let the car roll down a slight hil i was on and there was the problem passenger side hub has died !!! yippee more problems !!

right well now a pregress report:

CTS has been changed BUT its still gettin way to much fuel, when u offer it throttle it hesitates and sounds as if its drowning and wont idle again ??

reset the ecu codes this mornin too and when the new CTS went it it went of then came back on again !!

theres a cleaned ICV and theres no air leaks to my knowledge !!

as said above read the codes with a paperclip, go to www.topbuzz.co.uk and search for paperclip test to see how

russb

could be ECU, have you done paperclip test? i think mines the ECU because my ECU light is n constant and i am getting silly codes like quad drive module and stuff

GED2.0CORSA

the ecu light is on constant !!

James R

IT's got to be either CTS or the AFM

if the ecu light isn't coming on it's more likely to be the CTS and as it's cheaper try that first.

have ya cleaned out the throttle body where the ICV goes

GED2.0CORSA

posted on 4th Apr 05 at 08:07

it wont just start up on its own its need a little encouragement, a littel gas but it wont edle either !!

also:
i have tested the ICV out of the car fit a volt meter and it open no problam at 12 volts , and there is twelve volts at the plug but it wouldnt open when on the car in ignition on ???

I would have said Coolant temp sensor or AFM if ya have one, a coolant temp sensor is only £12ish so might be worth gettin a new one

What does it sound like when you start the engine up, does it rattle? and if so does it quiten off as it warms up?

The saga continues !!!!

right checked and replaced all vacuum pipes no leaks no more, after i changed all vacuums it idled ok for about a minute then it was a like a bag of bolts again

its always over fueling but i thought this was just a factor of there being and air leak ??

when i say over fueling i mean over fueling 60 miles and id say 2 hours of idling has drank an entire tank of fuel !!!!!

i have change temp sensor mind u it was an old one that went on again like, but what else could it be ??

air mass meter, thottle body sensor ????

please someone must be able to help ?
