I didn't know they had imobiliser transponder thingies, which sucks because it will probably interfere with my alarm. Late cav CDX or CDi whatever have ecotecs. I think I'll just keep looking for an XE now that I have read up about it. Although the ecotecs seem to be going for less than £100 some with less than 50K miles on the clock. Now all I need is money and a weekend off :)

remember you need the transponder and key chip from the ecotec engine or else you wont be able to start it

I want to put a 2 litre valver into my corsa, been looking into it for some time now. Most red tops are way down in england which is a bit far for me. But I've found a cheap and local cav 2 litre 16v ecotec engine. I know they are are less powerful than the red top version but I'm thinking about dropping it into the corsa anyway. What sort of mounts do they need? just the same as the red top? I have a power steering corsa too, any problems there? Hows about wiring? I guess I would need the ecotec loom and stuff just the same as doing a C20XE. Anyone who has done a conversion like this before then I would be grateful to hear from them :) |
