the steel bit is the bit that has broken, garage have said they have never seen one snap before

yeh the plastic clips onto to ball joint things

cant imagine the steel piece breaking

well relax then ud pick up a whole gearbox for that engine for about 40 quid and that would have the selctor on it.

the only thing i can think of that could have snapped down there would be a small plastic black piece and thats easy to fix.

i'm trying to remember wot it looked like on mine( it was a while since i changed my gearbox)

i could be corrected but i think the rest of it was made out steel although not 100% sure on that.

its in the engine bay and goes to the gearbox. You can see it if u look down the back of the engine. According to the bloke at the transmission place i have to buy a whole new linkage which could cost loads :boggle:

still not sure were exatly that is. if it is down on the gear box it could be a pain in the ass although there is a plastic piece down there that is quite easy to replace once ya can get yer hand into it.

Does any body know how much it would roughly cost to change the gear selector/linkage whatever it is on my car - 93 corsa sri. It snapped 2day :(
