basicly, long, slow bass lines like in garage, drum&bass, hip hop, r&b etc sound best with a ported box, and fast bass lines like in dance, hard house sound best in a sealed box... easy

depends what music you listen to. If you listen to rock music, etc then you want it sealed. If you listen to stuff like r & b type music then you want it ported.

I have got mine ported and I like it. I listen to all types of music from rock to garage, r & b and lots of bass music and it handles everything fine.

I don't personally lik ports in boxes but if done right for the right kinda music i guess than can b ok.

The experience i had with a ported box was I gained a little bass but the control and quality of it was sacrafised!!

good morning, just got an alpine 12" type R sub with a box from car audio security, what difference would it make if i was to port/vent the box?

Thanks
