Mike as you look at the adjustment screw head it needs to go clockwise to make the screw face protrude out more into the plastic stopper section of the throttle cable rocker.

Yeh mine is a x12xe as well.

So i'm turning it clockwise am , or is it a case of seeing which way it needs to be turned?

what engine Mike? Bit dark now. For those of you with X12XE...

Remove the induction pipe from airbox to plasic inlet.

Undo & remove the three torx screws that hold the plastic inlet on.

Lift the inlet off and move it to one side (some air pipes will still be attached but just move it away from its seating)

Undo & remove the four torx screws holding the throttle body down (same size torx as the plastic inlet)

Now lift the throttle body as high as you can (throttle cable will still be attached along with some more air pipes but you only need to lift it about 1" so that you can now gain access to the adjustment srcrew.

Give the adjustment screw a few turns with small torx bit (trial and error).

Refit as reverse of above.

Now test and make sure that idle is not above 900rpm, if it is youve turned it too much and away you go! :thumbs:

Dont worry, nothing will suddenly fall off or is sandwitched under the throttle body to cause you problems. The only thing is adjusting the screw is fiddly as theirs no room to work (20-40 degrees of movement with wrench) and just make sure you drop nothing down the big hole LOL

Yup, give the lower adjustment screw a couple of turns aswell - on mine I had to take the top throttle body off (4 torx screws under the plastic inlet manifold) to get at, I noticed that the plastic stopper that stops against the screw face had worn down slightly with constant hitting (compressions).

Also explains why mine was so bad when cold or 1st driven as it had stuck there overnight also the throttle body would be ever so slightly smaller when cold than hot (thermal expansion). Its great, so good im wondering wether to delay the conversion and get a few more miles out of my lump first! ;)

Always a bit nervous of taking the throttle body appart.

yes mate i think u hav answered the problem to most of us corsa owners with bad idle problems!!!!!!

ive had bad idle problems for while, and thought it was the ICV?

but it got better now, i guess the throttle body must of been clogged up and sum how got uncloged which would explain why the problem got better by itself :thumbs:

im gonna take it of and giv it a good clean

I know a few of you said you had similar problems to me when I put this up a while ago. I have a 1.2 16v lump, for the past 8 months when I come off the gas the revs have been going REAL low and nearly stalling and then rising to normal straight away! Its been really annoyning and has gotten worse over the past month. Ive been reluctatnt to buy a new ICV even though I was convinced it was that. Well it wasnt!

After taking the plastic inlet off and looking into the carb and playing with the circular throttle bit to see how hard/easy it was to turn (whatever its called) I noticed it was sticking against the walls, as it was turning back too far! Simply turned the torx screw a few times to adjust where it stops at and now its purrfect! Basically the throttle was closing too much and sticking, the idle control was pushing to try and move it back slightly but because it was sticking it was taking the couple of secs to unstick and causing the revs to drop big time!

OMG 8 months of shitty driving now cured, only for me to chuck the engine next month for a valver :lol:
