this thread. :D

red back then...

silver now.

red paint was from savage where you have to mix a hardener with the paint. silver paint was hammerite.
if i was to do it again, it'll defo be hammerite as it is cheaper by almost half, and its heat proof and generally paints a little bit easier.

hammerite is best, it is heat proof, or failing that halfords do their own caliper paint in 5 colours, i did mine in blue with this stuff, its 8.99

wot i did with mine was take all the old paint off using paint stripper, lot better than just painting it over the top as it will probably flake off

u can use hammerite, n its top stuff, as said, wots the point of spending 20 notes on folatec crap when a can of hammerite is about 6 quid

that folia tec stuff is shite. just use normal spray paint if you want a fancy colour, or smooth hammerite if you want a plain colour

Anyone know a decent place to source some red caliper lacquer (folia tec stuff i imagine). Tried Chesterfield & Derby Halfords, none in stock, same story at Motor World. Seems £20 is the going rate, was just neing a cheap skate & trying to avoid P&P!!
