I think the early 1.2i 8v are pretty tough engines... Mines done 90,000 and its fine. My friends are all driving about in thier fords, renaults and citroens which are smokey and rattle like fuck (after having done a similar milage)! But they still think Corsas are crap, at them!

i dident, the previous owner did, i have no idea why the rebuild took place, esp. since it cost 3k and was done by vauchall, surely cheeper to get a brand new engine? i got the vaux recipets too, quite funny really

mines done just under 118,000 i think, tho it had a full vauxhall rebuild at 30,000 so basicaly everything was replaced

J100RSA, what did you have done and what was the total price if u dont mind me asking.

True... it does depend on how well the engine was looked after. Mine has had a rough life so I think its trying to tell me that now.

engine conversion is the way i reakon mate,

if you can get the job done right, either DIY or otherwise it'll be as good as new if all parts that need uprating are etc

Just reached the big 100 000 in my Mreg 1.4 8v corsa :!

Whats the highest mileage people have seen or have had with corsas? My engine is starting to cause me problems now. Had the head gasket replaced for the 2nd time about a month back to hopefully solve the coolant water leak. However the coolant water is still dissapearing somewhere. As well as the oil every serveral hundred miles.

Just thinking what to do with it? the mechanic can't find the cause to the water leak and all this time its not getting better.

Possible options:

Keep on paying money to get the engine repaired.

Get an engine conversion (how ever i have never heard 1 success story with this option)

What u all think?
