i wouldn't spend £40 for a panal filter to get 1 to 2 bhp out of a 1.2 waste of money

take the clip on bit off the bottom of the airbox and run 2 cold air feed upto it, also cut out teh plastic supports inside as they restrict the flow, no need to drill then.

On the models with an air feed from the front of the box to near the bonnet catch, removing that and simply putting a piece of ducting pipe (like convoluted grey washer pipe) and cable tie the end to the grille 6 inches or so in front of the airbox itself. Then replace the element with a panel filter like Jetex or K&N (cotton gauze) but watch it if you leave it in for a major service in case they throw it away or steal it. Put the paper one back in.

but is replacing the feed from the manifold and taking the little palstic bit out of the middle of the box the best way to go about it? (that what I meant :))

An induction kit is a gr8 idea but Its a MUST to get a cold air feed to it as they are prone to suckin in hot air from the engine.

I put an induction kit on sounded mental. But messed up performance wen i put the drilled airbox back on it felt so much more responsive its much betta

I've drilled mine and put a K&N filter in it. It gives a nice roar just like an induction kit, without the flat spots.
