Is this better than an induction cone?

k&n panel filter and the cold feed put where the hot air feed is from the zorsat mainfold and the little flap inside the box-remove it

i do vented wings for £55

I don't really want to go for engine mods as its only a 1.2 etc. I'm looking into an engine conversion right now but it has other problems such as car re-ale value, insurance, reliability , engine history etc etc.

neither will give you much power mate to be honest they may add you 2bhp max, if you want power then you are going to have to go with engine mods such as ram induction and stuff like that

Sounds like a good idea but I'm not gonna be cutting any bumpers :) It's currently a feed cable tied to the front grille thats winning right now.

While I'm here I've asked in the MORE POWER thread: Whcih is better, K&N or Pipercross induction kit?

thanks Adam,

put some vents in your bumper and run the cold air feed to it it should fit between the arch liner and the car

Ah right. I think thats what Adam B said but this clears it up - so its a waste of time then.

Think I'll just stick to my bumper.

Kris do you know if an Air Dam is hard to fit, with Air Con and PAS in the engine bay too?

thanks,

i was gonna say, those vented wings do sod all cos that part of the car is double skinned, so you would need to vent the inner wing also.

could you move the filter into the wing with some tubing stopping any warm air entering at all then?

if ur confident go for it. I myself hate doing bodywork and always fuck it up

So in theory, do you think buying a cheap replacement wing and making a few 'go faster holes' is worth it? Will it be easy enough to get the feed from the holes to the induction cone? I guess there pretty much next door to each other.

its not the plastic liner, have a look and u'll see what i mean. If u cut the liner it wouldnt really make any difference. apart from the shit thing u said

Im thinking of the body wing with fine silver mesh behind it to prevent big 'foreign objects' flying in. and maybe a cold air feed from the lower front grille too. I don't want to chop the arch liner 'cos of dirt and shite entering the engine bay. Its only a 1.2, just like to get as good a 'return on investment' as i can for a £60 quid noise maker

I think i paid 150 to get it sprayed + fitted. If u want it to get air to ur filter effectivly tho u need to chop a big hole in the inner wing as well :)

Thanks Adam - if I could get a wing for £12 I'd have a go at cutting some 'artistic' holes myself as it wouldn't matter if I wasted it!

How much do people think the part would be? how much would a bodyshop charge to re-spray one?

Im tempted ;)

I got a pvd one, but it was bashed so think i paid £40.

sorry that doesnt really help, but im sure my mate with a bodyshop said he gets em for about £12, not from vaux of course

Hi All,

I am looking into getting an induction kit for better torque (optimistically) and a nicer sound (but not boy-racer-ish).

I like the look of the drivers wing having vents in it to which a cold air feed can be attached i guess) except this one from PVD is £90.

Would it be possible to get a wing 2nd hand from a breakers and cut the holes yourself then get it sprayed?

If so how much is a wing? How much would spraying one up cost?

Has anyone got a pic of that Corsa with this done? I forget who's it is.

Thanks,
