Shouldn't do, the immobiliser is connected to the ecu, and your ditching that so it should be fine.

Right the previous owner of the engine (matt c) had a toad immobiliser and alarm which did'nt interfear with the engine (he did'nt have a vauxhall immob as standard)

my corsa has got the immob as standard from vauxhall, am i gonna have the problem of not being able to start my car once the new engines in :boggle:

I had this problem when i fitted my old 1.4 16v into my nova. Bought a new 'blank' ecu for £195.

I think you can permenantly 'lock out' the ecu by trying to get around it.

no the switch will come out off the backing plug
turn it up side down and plug it back in

it can not be done m8ty
like they say u need to go to Vauxhall with your card thing and order another one.
i know this as a mate of mine had a 1.6 16v engine and fitted it into a Nova but it dident come with the Imb or chip and the bloke fitting the engine was a chief Tec for Vauxhall (owner of Fearless Motorsport) and he had to order a all new imo and chip from Opel/GM as there was no other way to get it started

one thing to try is (not saying it will work) take your hazard light switch out and turn it around, press it and all your dash lights will come on,then try Bumping the car....

agreed, this is the safest option

messing around with the immobiliser can cause a fair bit of damage to the car if you mess it up, could lead to burnt fingers, fried ecu, or burnt car...

go to vauxhall & get them to get you a new key. plus if you told your insurance your car has an immobiliser and you then kill it, the cover becomes void unless you tell them that you have disabled the immobiliser.
